We are very keen to help develop the children's understanding of the world around them. To do this, we aim to take part in a number of charity events throughout the year, including Childline, NSPCC and Demelza House activities - so be prepared to sponsor your child's sponsored waddle or trike ride!

Ickle Pickles Nursery sponsors a child through Action Aid - Yiang Yang, an 8 year old little girl in China. The children will be able to see pictures of Yiang yangs village and life and we will correspond with her regularly and find out all about her daily life as well as telling her about ours.

• We also have a very special member of staff - Ickle Bear. He lives in the nursery and is available for children to take on their travels- be it a day out or a family holiday. We would love to have lots of pictures of him on his travels to display on our noticeboard. He has his own passport and is very well- behaved so please let us know if your child would like to show him the sights - but please send us a postcard so we know he got there safely!

Watch out for Ickle Bear's change of outfits, particularly the Scuba Diving one!

• Ickle Pickles Nursery is also very keen to promote and reward good practice within our Nursery and we operate a 'Room of the Month' and 'Team Member of the Month' programme. The winning 'Room of the Month' will be displayed in reception and will be given an amount of money to spend on their own choice of equipment for their room. 'Team Member of the Month' will be awarded vouchers to reward themselves with some retail therapy or pampering.

These awards are made based on staff and parents opinions so please let us know if there is anyone who you feel deserves recognition. There is also a Suggestion Box in reception for any other feedback or comments, and we value your input.
