The last stage before your child leaves us to go to school is the Ickle Adventurers Room. In this room we work to the 'Foundation' stage framework to help prepare your child for their next step onto Primary School.
This is a large, light and airy room with separate wet and dry play areas and a vast range of activities from sand and water to home-corner, dressing up, construction, reading and our special 'jungle-themed' cosy area.
We have our own computer and printer to encourage technological development as well as our very special 'Roamer', an Ofsted recommended 'robot' that will give hours of fun to the children.
Again, staff are encouraged to share the children's meals at meal-times. Fresh drinking water is available at all times, and children are encouraged to select their own healthy snack from our 'snack bar' at mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack time.
Children will be able to go on visits to Iwade Village School and we will actively encourage relationships with our local school to make the move less daunting for your little one. All children moving on to school from our Pre-School Room will be issued with a Record of Transfer.
The children in all of our rooms will be given their own coloured bags with a space to put their own photo to encourage ownership and self-recognition that can be used for bringing clothes, sun cream etc to nursery as well as carrying their Contact Books. As per the other three rooms, these books will give parents information on their child's day at Nursery, whilst also allowing feedback from home on a daily basis.
We also operate a Keyworker system in the Ickle Adventurers Room and your child's allocated Keyworker will work closely with the team in the room to ensure activities are planned to offer relevant opportunities to each child to help them achieve pre-school goals.
See you soon
